PREVENTION. PROTECTION. PROOF.
Imagine the Attorney General informed you of a data security breach, or the EPA accuses you of a violation. Who would you call first?

Unfortunately, a "certificate" or promise is not enough! Unless YOU have proof that would stand up in a court of law, your organization is 100% exposed for potential problems associated with improper IT disposal.

Retire-IT provides comprehensive reporting that has been verified to be both accurate and complete.

When it comes to IT disposal, it's Retire-IT, or it is your word on it.

LOGISTICS IS KEY
Shipping equipment cross-country is expensive. It is also risky.

Most problems with IT disposal occur before recyclers ever take possession of your equipment. Transporting equipment long distances increases the risk that equipment gets damaged, and increases the likelihood of theft.

Most recyclers don’t control their own logistics. Frequently, recyclers outsource management of logistics to 3rd party providers, or worse, shift the burden by having clients coordinate delivery of equipment themselves.

Retire-IT manages transportation from start to finish. Our hands-on approach improves quality control, removes the middlemen, shortens turnaround, and lowers cost.

ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL
Retire-IT works with leading IT disposal firms and specialty equipment remarketers throughout the country so you don’t have to.

While almost any recycler can wipe a hard drive and resell PCs, not every recycler can effectively handle every type of equipment.

We handle any type of IT equipment…from servers to PCs, laptops to copiers, networking gear to telephone equipment...whatever type of equipment you are retiring, we have a solution for you.

INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC INSURANCE
Retire-IT provides an added layer industry-specific insurance protection beyond that of our partners.

Liability for data security risks are poorly addressed by most insurance policies. Exposures for "consequential damages" are often left uncovered. Typical insurance policies will not be triggered since data is usually considered "intangible property." Most insurers put exclusionary language in their policies for data security claims in Commercial General Liability (GL) policies. Errors & Omissions (E&O) policies may cover consequential losses, but there are no standard forms, and coverage varies significantly among insurers.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
In 2003, the EPA launched a program called “Plug-In to e-Cycling” to increase the number of used electronics safely collected and recycled nationwide by educating consumers on why it’s important and enhancing the infrastructure available for them to do so across the U.S.

Retire-IT subscribes to the EPA’s policies and practices to prevent mishandling of e-waste. In addition, Retire-IT supports the policies and recommendations of the Basel Action Network which goes beyond the EPA guidelines to include the following:
  • No Dumping in Landfills
  • No Exportation of Hazardous Wastes to Developing Countries
  • No Use of Prison Labor
  • No Re-Use, Refurbishment “Loophole”

  • "Using Retire-IT is like having the Good House Keeping Seal when it come to IT disposal. It means we have real proof, not some phoney report."

    - MIS Asset Manager

    WATCHOUT
"In the absence of a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval for the industry, you have to ask hard questions and demand real answers."
